Tape & jointing
Tape and jointing
On larger interiors and many new builds, tape and jointing is the efficient route to a paint-ready wall: joints and fixings are filled, taped and sanded rather than fully skimmed. Done well it is fast and flat; done badly it telegraphs every joint once the lights go on. Tonmark treats jointing as a finish in its own right.

How the work runs
01
Check the boards
We confirm the boarding, fixings and bead are sound and set out for the level of finish required.
02
Fill, tape & build
Joints and fixings are filled and taped, then built up in coats so the surface sits flat across the board lines.
03
Sand & ready
The finish is sanded back and left ready to decorate, consistent from room to room.
The required level of finish (for example a higher standard under critical lighting) should be agreed up front, as it affects time and cost.
